Started Chantix 2 weeks ago
Posted in home, life on May 7th, 2008 with No responses.Today is day the 5th day I’ve gone without a cigarette and it’s been rough. I’ve been blogging about it here, sorry I hadn’t started one on the sheley.org blog, but it was just quicker to post it on the forums because I had that messed up style on the blog.
It’s been rough, during our art show I really wanted a cig, and today I had a friend over helping on the house and he would go outside and smoke and I wanted one SO BAD!
The pills make my stomach upset too, I’m thinking about giving up on the pill and not start up.. I’m not really sure what’s in the pill, I guess I should check it out. I know you need to eat food with the pill, and I try but it’s not always convenient when eating dinner or lunch.
The house in 90% finished! it looks so good.. I’ll get some new pictures up asap, we had a realtor over today and we should be ready to place a sign in the yard on the 14th. I have a good feeling about the house, I think it will sell quickly.. With that said, my teacher has had his house on the market for a few months now, and they are living in their new house.
It’s been a long day, and I think the next week is going to be non stop balls to the wall!! We have more the work done, but now it’s clearing the house out and staging all the rooms to look the best
off to bed

What to look for when buying Art
Posted in Articles, art on February 21st, 2008 with No responses. If a room in your home needs a boost of color and character, consider placing paintings on the walls. This will make a big impact on the overall character of the room especially when consistent with the room’s style. Here are some tips for decorating a room with paintings:
Choose the right colors. The paintings you select should be complementary to the wall color, furniture and carpet of the rooms you are decorating. You’ll want the paintings to tie in with the mood of the rooms and the rest of your décor.
Choose wall art that you like, not one just because it’s part of the latest décor craze. If you’re working with a room that doesn’t have much color, choose a painting that fits with the theme you’d like the room to have. If you want a peaceful setting, choose calmer colors. If you want to create a lot of energy, use paintings with brighter, bolder colors.
Choose the right style. There are a variety of styles of paintings including contemporary, modern and traditional. Choose a style that best fits you and the room. Use your own tastes when selecting the painting to create a room reflective of your personality and personal style. If you use more than one painting in each room, choose complementary styles.
Choose the right size painting for your wall. Large paintings in small rooms are overwhelming and can make the room look smaller. Lean toward small and average sized paintings for smaller rooms. In a room with a lot of wall space go for larger paintings because smaller paintings can be engulfed and overlooked on a large wall. You can also choose a number of smaller paintings to arrange together on a large wall.
Arrange your paintings. There are several ways you can hang painting according to the room you’re decorating. If you want to create a gallery feel, give each painting plenty of space on the wall. If you choose to hang another painting next to it, such as in a hallway setting, give ample amount of space between each painting. You can also place a painting above a sofa. When doing this hang the painting at either eye level or at least six to 12 inches above the sofa. Another way you can arrange your wall art is to do a cluster arrangement where you tightly group a small number of paintings to display together. This creates a focal point in the room. The arrangement you use depends on the room, the size of the paintings and of course your personal preference.
Working on the House
Posted in News, home on February 21st, 2008 with One response.I mentioned in the news post that we have been working on the house. We are fixing up the house in order to list it for sale. We were planning on showing it the end of this month, but the amount of work that needs done and the amount of time we have don’t match up. We’ve hired a friend of ours who is a contractor, he is doing most the major stuff then lis and I have been doing the painting and smaller stuff that I know how to do.
So far we have put a new fluorescent lamp in the extra bedroom and put a new ceiling in. The old light only had 2 tubes, the new one has 4 fluorescent tubs in ti and let me tell ya.. It’s bright in that room now! Like I said, it’s the extra bedroom, it’s where my closet is and mostly just a storage room for all our stuff..lol
The other room we’ve worked on is the bathroom, We ripped down the wall paper, only to put up new paneling.. go figure.. We added some trim and have spent the last few days painting the walls and the cabinet and doors. We got new nickel knobs, towel holders and new faucet.. Everything is up but the new faucet, I need to wait for the snow to melt so I can go shut of the water.
Let’s see, what else have we done.. Oh, bought new carpet for the front and back rooms, it’s in the shop but we still have more painting to do before it will go done. All in all, the house should look pretty top notch, we have some landscaping work to clean up as well before we can sell.
I’ll update as time goes.
cheers

Waist deep in vBulletin work!
Posted in News, business on February 21st, 2008 with One response.Hey everyone, hows it going ?
I haven’t had time to update my sheley.org blog in some time.
As you see, I’ve updated the style here again, some of you may have remember me talking about free wordpress styles, well this is another one I purchased to distribute but it’s kind of a pain to setup and I’m not sure how well it would go over. We’ll see, give me a month or so and I’ll get it up to share with everyone.
Anyways.. Life has been good for me, Alissa and I are getting the house cleaned up to get ready to show/sell. We are looking for a house with more room and a bit newer then the one we are currently in. School is cruising along fine, I’m still passing and looking forward to spring break! We are working with cisco switches, it’s pretty interested stuff, at least for me it is.
What have I been working on ? The end of last year I got a call from a past client in Cali asking me if I wanted to fly over for some website meetings.. Of course I said yes! It was awesome and warm! I think I’ll be going back sometime, this time with Alissa. I’m currently the head Marketing Coordinator for the Crowdgather network.. I’ll let you know more about what crowdgather is when we official go public. All I can say is this.. Currently I’m in charge of 20 forums and I have to make sure they are optimized for search engines, as well as monetize all the forums so my boss can start making some money. We haven’t added ad’s on many forum yet, I’ve just been working on getting the site optimized and posting some links around the web back to it.
With that said, the vBulletin Services work that I was doing during the week, I don’t have near the time for.. I’ve created a vBulletin team that is composed of about 20 vbulletin programmers and designers that I’ve been pushing the work off on to.. It’s worked out for everyone because I asked that the vb team help on the forums, especially if they are making money off vBulletinSetup.
Other then that, hasn’t been to much going on. I’ll try to update this more often now that I have the magazine style template setup.
cheers
