Just got back from the dr. The heartbeat sounds good, no sonogram yet, next visit 4 sure.. We think it’s a girl #

Second Doctor’s Appointment

Brandon and I went in for my second doctor’s appointment today. Both of us were excited, hoping we’d be able to find out if it’s a girl or a boy, and really wanting to hear the heart beat again.
Everything went well at the appointment! I’m progressing normally – I’ve gained 9 pounds (yikes!), my blood pressure reading was nearly identical to last visit’s reading, and I may not be quite as far along as they thought (potentially a week or two later than they were thinking) … maybe it will be a Valentine’s Day baby!
Because we really do want to know the sex, the doctor recommended that we wait until next month’s appointment to do my sonogram. She said it would help increase our chances of being able to tell, and that we’ll be able to get an accurate due date. The doctor also said that she’d place her bet [...]

Starting to Feel Like Home

Brandon and I had another nice, relatively quite weekend. We traveled to Emporia to have dinner with Brandon’s parents and Grandma Siver on Saturday evening, and pretty much spent the rest of our time working on the house. Here’s what we were able to accomplish:

Purchase & assemble an extra wide file cabinet for the office.

Organize Brandon’s closet.

Purchase & assemble a portable caddy to hold all of my paint for the studio.

Continue to change out bathroom fixtures – towel bars, towel rings, hooks & toilet paper rolls.

Install new shower curtain & bath mat in the main bathroom.

Order curtains for the bedroom, living room, studio & Brandon’s office.

Start hanging artwork throughout the house.

All in all, things are really starting to come together … I can feel the house transitioning into our home!
